Season 2018-2019

Mother of the Maid

We all know about Saint Joan - but what about the saints who appeared to and helped her? Prime among those was Saint Catherine, who was martyred in the 4th Century. You can find out all about her via Wikipedia.

Mother of the Maid

Isabelle Romée married Jacques d’Arc and raised five children - including a girl named Joan who would later become the famous Joan of Arc. After Joan’s death, she devoted her life to fighting the charges of heresy that led to Joan’s death and lived to see them successfully overturned in 1456.

You can find this statue honoring Isabelle in Domrémy, France.
